As I have mentioned in the past, I am also part of a online gaming community called Teamplayer gaming. If I havent mentioned it before, I am mentioning it now.
This community is host to several clans, one which I am apart of. On occassion they will record podcast's. Wether it be about games or just about the people who play on their servers. Well a couple Saturday's ago they have a Ladies Night podcast, which I was apart of. Rated R commentary is included in this Podcast and shouldnt be listened to by anyone under the age of 18.

Intel lanfest April 2011 overview
Its been a busy few weeks since Lanfest and havent been able to post any follow up since my post from the actual event. But I am back and here is the over view.
So first off the entire weekend was a huge success. The entire event was sold out 2 weeks before the actual event. And it all went to charity. Saturday was a pretty laid back day, the only tournaments i believe that were going on was the Starcraft 2 tournament. No one in my group particiapted in the tournament, so we mostly hung out, looked at the vendors and played a few games. Two of my friends won in the raffle on Saturday and I won a harddrive from Western Digital by doing a survey. On sunday we had the Team Fortress 2 tournament which 4 of us particpated in. Only one of our party members made it into the finals but unfortuantly his team didnt win. Bad timing and procasintaors I believe contributed to that loss. In the last day of raffles 2 more people of our group won prizes. Our friend Ryan won a headset and our friend Matt's wife won a cooling system. It was crazy, fun, and a overall great weekend. I can't wait for the next event in the fall.

First day at Intel Lanfest Spring 2011
Well it is Sunday and I am currently at Intel Lanfest in Folsom,ca. This weekend has been a blast so far. Those who play on the TPG servers and that live in california have made a nice turnout for this event. We have a total of 12 people show... well 10 TPGers and 2 friends. Saturday was our first offical day we showed even though the event started on friday night. They had quite a few sponsers here, with booths and demostrations. Western Digital, MSI and Gigabyte were here.
Throughout the day they were giving away prizes, doing tournaments and contests. Western Digital had a survey you could fill out and win t-shirts, but they did have 2 grand prizes of 600 GB Raptor Harddrives they gave away. I won one of them to the shock and dismay of the Intel guys. It seems I have a habit of winning something everytime I come to one of these events. When i arrived the Intel personel told me I was cut off from winning, because I have won too much. When the sponsers gave me the harddrive they were shaking there head and couldnt believe I had once again won something. At about 7 pm or so they had the first raffle last night. Two people in our group won in the first raffle. one won a Psyko headset and the other won a computer case.
So at the end of the first day it was a major win so far for our group and there is one more raffle at the end of the day today. And this one is the major raffle. Also I have the Team Fortress 2 tournament starting here in a few minutes. Pictures of this event will be posted tomarrow once I am back home. I hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Battlefield 2 and too good to be anything but a Hacker
Ok this weekend was fun, got some RL errands in and spent time with the family. But after that was all done got some gaming in.
Now I was gonna start this week off with a review on a new game I picked up this month called RIFT. But a incident happen this weekend that made me want to write about it and maybe alittle about the game it happened in.
So one of my most played games is Battlefield 2. I got this game about 6 years ago but quit for a few years while I went through the WoW stage in gaming. Only to pick the game back up after I quit WoW almost 2 years ago now. I joined a clan called SsT who plays on the Team Player Gaming servers, which is also formly known as Texas TeamPlayers. I have now been in this clan and playing on TPG for almost 2 years and enjoying every min with this awesome group of people I am glad to call friends.
For anyone who has never played Battlefield 2 I will give you a review of the game and alittle rundown on it also. Battlefield 2 is a FPS( first person shooter) that takes place in the early 21st century during a fictional war invovling the US, China, the middle east and Europe. There are various different maps taking place on US soil, China and the middle east. The object on each map is to reduce the opposing forces tickets to 0 first. Which you can do by killing enemy players and changing enemy flags to your flag. Basically its a big capture the flag game with guns and armored vehicles.
Its a great game that has had a continously large population base of players for many years. For people who are new to the game it might be alot to take in and the starting weapons are not so good, but you unlock newer ones the more you play and rank up. It is still a overall good and solid game to play for people who like FPS. Also for anyone who has enjoyed the Battlefield series over the years EA Games has finally announced Battlefield 3, which is said to be released in the fall '11.
Now that I gave a rundown on the game lets go back to the incident that happened over the weekend that made me want to post about the game to begin with. I decided to play on Sat night, just to get alittle game time in. I admit I was on my A game that night, having a high amount of kills with low deaths. There was one clan that i kept running into and they kept dieing to me. I think they were called CVW. Now I am not the best of players but I do have my good moments. Well this clan CVW didnt have good luck against me, I played against them on 2 different maps. The first being Mashtuur, which is a city map. Well they got alittle pissed at me when i killed 2 of their players which almost looked like at once. They called me a hacker. I am not and never will be a hacker. When I killed them they were basically laying on top of each other, which makes is pretty damn easy to kill them at the same time.
The second time this "hacker" comment occured was on the next map of Great Wall. I was seperated from my squad leader and teammates and was hanging out on the wall waiting for enemies to come up. Well that happen to be where the CVW clan came up with 3 teammates total. I used the wall i was hiding behind to deflect there fire when i needed to reload. I ended up taking 2 of the out while another person on my team took out the last one from behind. At this point they went on a yelling Triad that I was, and I quote " a Hacking Bitch". Now the TPG servers pride themselves on finding hackers and baning them on their servers. If I was indeed a hacker I would have been gone a year and a half ago when i started playing on their servers. But I am not. Of course being one who cant just let anything sit without defending myself alittle went on to say " If you cant handle the chick stay away from my flags" and " I am a reg and everyone knows I do not hack". Now as I am very concentrated in the game I am playing and killing people I dont pay attention to the rest of chat but as I understand it a few regulars of the server stood up for me.
But I have to say them calling me a hacker is almost a compliment as they were saying I was too good against them. It definitly made my weekend and makes me smile everytime I think of the incident. Might post alittle more on Battlefield 2 this week, if not my next post will be from LANfest in Sacramento. Hope you all have a great monday!

Geek and Gamer Girls Song

Not Rare
Women in the gaming world are considered a rare and exotic flower or mythical creature one has heard about but never been seen and thus do not blelieve in. But this is not so.
I am a gamer, and also a girl. Yes i was born a girl and still am a girl and no the world hasnt ended. Not yet anyway.
I will give you alittle of my background history of my foray into gaming. I started playing video games as a young child on NES and super nintendo. I probably really didnt start getting into it until high school. Because that was when i met people who also liked to play video games. By then i had moved up to N64 then the Gamecube. Yeah I know i was stuck in the nintendo brand erra. By the time I graduated high school i moved up into the PC world. I admit like a child with a new toy I forgot about the responsbilities of life and ingnored other aspects of my life that were more important like school. It took me a few years to find a nice balance in my life. I now have a pretty good balance between life, work and video games now. Though all of my gaming is now done on a PC computer that I had custom built by a friend.
In this Blog I have decided to write, which I admit I have made out of sheer boredness and the decision that it was time write out my thoughts again. So in this blog I have decided to write, I will of course write about my experiences of being a female gamer in a world all the male gamers think they own and I will also write reviews about games maybe even some guides to games I currently play. Not to mention the few gaming events I do attend like next weekends up coming Intel LANfest in Folsom,ca.
But to end my first post I want to say this, we the gamer chicks are not rare. We are out there but you males dont want to believe it.
