So Defiance released on Tues. And I was able to play this week as I had it off from work. Unfortunately I didn't play as much as I wanted as I got sick over the Easter and wasn't in too much of a gaming mood.
Currently I am at 406 EGO rating and have almost completed the current available content. Currently there is only so much content available. Most people have already completed that content which is said to be about 30 hrs worth. Which isn't a lot especially considering this is a MMO. But the developers have said the current content released is a prologue to the show which will air on Apr 14th( I believe). After the show is released content in the game will be updated and released every 2 weeks.
I was also invited into the marvel's heroes beta over the weekend but with how well I was feeling I wasn't able to play any of it. Hopefully I will be able to participate again in the future and be able to get a update about that game as well. When i finish the current content in Defiance I will give a rundown of the current story and how well i believe the game is going.

Defiance
There is a game releasing next week that I decided to go ahead and pre-order.
It is called Defiance.
This last weekend I was able to jump into there last beta and get a feel for this new mmo shooter/rpg game. Yes I consider this a shooter game.
The beginning of this game takes place on a future/ Armageddon earth. More specifically the California Bay area.
Here is the general plot below;
"Karl Von Bach, of Von Bach Industries, has announced that he is preparing an expedition, in partnership with the Earth Republic, to the San Francisco Bay Area in search of advanced and valuable arktech and has publicly called for people to join, becoming Ark Hunters, and help him locate what is needed. The expedition suffers disaster when the Stratocarrier EMS New Freedom is mysteriously shot down, killing and wounding many personnel. Von Bach has also gone missing. The Ark Hunters journey across the Bay Area, searching for and helping survivors and attempting to find Von Bach. Helpful locals aid in locating Von Bach, who has located the powerful Ark-Core technology he was searching for, and then the Ark Hunters seek out other connected technology such as the Ark-Matrix. In the end the ark hunters help locate the Gem, a powerful piece of Votan technology, which is promptly stolen by Joshua Nolan"
So you create a ark hunter, either a human or a race called Irathient ( which actually look pretty human to me.) You will then choose your Origin which is your characters basic background and starting weapon. This game doesn't have classes. Instead during your tutorial stage you will choose your main Ability out of the following Blur, cloak, decoy and overcharge. And you will build interchangeable load outs around this.
This game has your main mission story lines and side missions, but it also has challenges and world events.
When this game releases I will try to go into more detail. This game is very intricate. But another thing that makes this stand out from other games is that it is running side by side with a TV show on Syfy. So things that happen in the show will happen in the game and vice versa.

Ok so it has been like maybe a year since I have been on here. Sorry things in life get pretty crazy. So lets do a update recap.

-Descructable buildings and objects
-different game modes
-large number of weapons and vehicles
-assignments/ achievements
-Co-op mode for campaigns

-No commander position from BF2
-in game voip limited to battle log
-Battle log web base browser
-Campaign mode is very short
-DLC Pricing
-EA
-custom servers do not show up in server lists
Bascially to enjoy the game you just have to ignore all the con's. But it is a fun game, espeacially when you play with friends. And guys still never expect to play againt girls.
Also a note Battlefield 4 has been annouced by EA.
And that will be sometime in 2014.

Ladies Night Podcast
As I have mentioned in the past, I am also part of a online gaming community called Teamplayer gaming. If I havent mentioned it before, I am mentioning it now.
This community is host to several clans, one which I am apart of. On occassion they will record podcast's. Wether it be about games or just about the people who play on their servers. Well a couple Saturday's ago they have a Ladies Night podcast, which I was apart of. Rated R commentary is included in this Podcast and shouldnt be listened to by anyone under the age of 18.

Intel lanfest April 2011 overview
Its been a busy few weeks since Lanfest and havent been able to post any follow up since my post from the actual event. But I am back and here is the over view.
So first off the entire weekend was a huge success. The entire event was sold out 2 weeks before the actual event. And it all went to charity. Saturday was a pretty laid back day, the only tournaments i believe that were going on was the Starcraft 2 tournament. No one in my group particiapted in the tournament, so we mostly hung out, looked at the vendors and played a few games. Two of my friends won in the raffle on Saturday and I won a harddrive from Western Digital by doing a survey. On sunday we had the Team Fortress 2 tournament which 4 of us particpated in. Only one of our party members made it into the finals but unfortuantly his team didnt win. Bad timing and procasintaors I believe contributed to that loss. In the last day of raffles 2 more people of our group won prizes. Our friend Ryan won a headset and our friend Matt's wife won a cooling system. It was crazy, fun, and a overall great weekend. I can't wait for the next event in the fall.
